L Series — Lump Shredders

The L 30 series is a single-shaft shredder with a tangential infeed thus eliminating the need for a hydraulic feeding system. . Its compact and maneuverable design and ‘plug and play’ controls give this shredder total flexibility and ease of use. Like the  G, V, and X series shredders, the L 30 is driven by an oversized gearmotor and equipped with outboard bearings. It has a 310 mm diameter flat E-type rotor incorporating the proven Virtus Equipment knife holder and knife design in 600 mm or 850 mm widths. The user-friendly design allows for simple and efficient cleaning and maintenance. The L 30 shredders’ low rotor speed of 60 rpm and compact design makes it possible to shred lumps at a relatively low noise level. The shredder can be manually or conveyor fed with material discharge via a conveyor or into a dropbox.

The L 30 shredders are designed for in-house recycling of small lumps and purges from injection and blow molding processes. The typical input materials are small and medium-sized cakes such as head waste. The material can be shredded to reduce its volume or processed further by a granulator and immediately reintroduced into the production process. The shredder also can destroy sensitive products or recycle small batches of low-volume products to avoid contamination of the main product line.
